JIM CASEY

MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 3PM-8PM

Jim admits that he decided on a career in radio when he was younger because it seemed like "a fun and easy job."

"A junior high school speech teacher told me that I had a good voice for radio," he recalls. "I thought, ‘Well, that isn’t really working – I could do that!’"

Although he’s entertaining on the air, Jim is serious when talking about his 20-year radio career. In the mid ‘80s, he programmed KKYX-FM in San Antonio. This station is legendary for its signal that covered all of South Texas.

More than 30 years later, Jim has changed his opinion about the difficulty of working in radio. "It sounds easy to be on the air," Jim says. "But it’s a hard thing to learn to do."

Hard work doesn’t prevent Jim from having fun on the air. Listeners who tune into the program are likely to get lots of laughs, along with their country music favorites.

JERRY WALKER

 OVERNIGHTS 1AM-6AM

Jerry’s interest in radio began when he was a kid on Brooklyn’s "mean streets." He remembers using some rather primitive radio equipment to "broadcast" a show to his neighborhood. "I had a Lafayette electronic transmitter and a WebCor record player," he says. "I think the signal reached about three blocks."

Jerry’s background in radio spans 30 years and covers work at major Top 40 and Country stations ranging from Dallas to New York, and large markets in Canada. Jerry says that a highlight of his career before Eagle Country was working at WBAP, Dallas. "WBAP’s signal covers 42 states," he says. "It’s kind of humbling to realize that your voice is being heard by well over half the Country during certain times of the day."

Along with radio, Jerry lists his wife Tina and son Robbie as his main interests.
